01 / The mission

A better food system
starts at our table.

Lunchbreakers: Designing a Decentralized Meal Economy to Rebuild Local Foodsheds.

Too often, the people who grow our food, cook our meals, and eat at our tables are disconnected. Farmers face uncertain markets. Kitchens need reliable resources. Communities need better access to good food.

We’re designing a way to reconnect them: community-owned meal systems that turn everyday demand for meals into dependable markets for local agriculture, meaningful work, and nourishment close to home.

FOODSHED /

The farms, people, kitchens, and connections that feed a place. Let’s rebuild ours together.

02 / How it works

Start with a meal.
Change the whole system.

When we know who we’re feeding, we can plan what to grow. That simple shift connects the local and global food economies.

01

Gather the demand.

Schools, employers, senior programs, and households commit to future meals. Together, they give the community a dependable starting point.

People → Meal commitments
02

Grow with confidence.

Seasonal menus translate those meals into ingredient needs, helping local farms, regional producers, and global distributors plan ahead.

Menus → Farm commitments
03

Cook. Share. Repeat.

Local kitchens turn the harvest into complete meals. Neighborhood pickup, shared tables, and local delivery bring them home.

Local kitchens → Local tables

Every meal feeds the next.
Learn what people love. Reduce waste. Plan the next harvest together.

03 / Everybody eats

There’s a place for everyone
at the table.

We’re bringing together founding partners and pilot communities. What will you bring?

04 / One movement. Many meals.

Locally owned.
Stronger together.

Each Lunchbreakers chapter is a locally governed network of farms, kitchens, workers, and community institutions. Local members shape what their community needs.

Kiduna AI is the coordination layer: a way for chapters to share knowledge, organize initiatives, connect to global distribution networks, and learn from one another while keeping decisions close to home.
